SHORT INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages was created in 2023 on the basis of the Department of Teaching Methods, created in 2011. The Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages (formerly the Department of Teaching Methods) operated at the Faculty of Russian Philology of the University, and with the expansion of the educational institution’s capabilities, it was transferred to the Faculty of English. From the first years of its creation, the main activity of the department was aimed at training future teaching specialists in the Tajik, Russian, English, German, French and Chinese languages; now teachers teach English, German, French and Chinese language specialties in their general professional subjects.
The activities of the department are based on the Regulations of the Department of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education”, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Higher Professional and Postgraduate Education”, “Exemplary Regulations on Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan”, “State Standard of Higher Professional Education” Education of the Republic of Tajikistan" and regulatory documents in the field of education.
The department includes 5 main teachers and 20 part-time teachers of the university. Full-time employees of the Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages are:
Gadoev Karimjon Khairulloevich, research assistant, associate professor - head of the department;
Karaboeva Lutfiya Jamolovna – senior teacher;
Akhmedova Muatabar – assistant;
Bibisoro Akagul – assistant;
Medzhidova Marjona – laboratory assistant of the department.

Educational activities
The Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages trains professional teachers of English, German, French and Chinese. The goal of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching Methods is the theoretical explanation of various aspects of methodological science, the application of acquired knowledge by students, the development and development of their professional methodological skills and free communicative speech.
To achieve the goal, the department is assigned tasks to achieve its goal. The responsibilities of the department include:
To achieve this goal, the Department of Teaching Methods will annually complete a number of tasks:
- development of educational programs and curricula for each academic subject of the department;
- prepare educational, educational and methodological instructions, auxiliary educational materials depending on the specialties taught and use them in lessons;
- in addition to control classes, offer students assignments and independent work in various forms (writing essays and summaries, collecting additional information related to the topic of the lesson, reading additional scientific and educational literature, etc.);
- organization of teaching practice in preschool and secondary educational institutions;
- present a set of test questionnaires on academic subjects of the department for self-testing of students.
Research activities of the department
The Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages also pays special attention to scientific work. The scientific activity of the department is at the proper level along with other departments of the university. The research activities of the Department of Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages are aimed at carrying out the following activities:
§ Conducting round tables, scientific seminars, scientific-practical, scientific-methodological conferences on the problems of teaching foreign languages;
§ Research and presentation of an overview of the programs of academic subjects at different levels of education in the direction of teaching foreign languages;
§ Submitting reviews of dissertations and scientific articles, scientific projects, monographs, textbooks and other materials in the field of teaching foreign languages.
Young doctoral researchers (PhD), graduate students and applicants work closely with the department of teaching methods and receive scientific and methodological advice from teachers of the department when preparing scientific dissertations.
