English language department for two profile specialties was opened in 2023 on the basis of the English Philology Department of the English Faculty. The department has replenished its teaching staff with talented and young specialists and pays serious attention to deep and comprehensive teaching of the English language. There are 14 teachers teaching students at the department, of these, 1 is candidate of philological sciences, 2 are senior teachers, 6 are assistants and 5 work part-time. The head of the department is Candidate of Philological Sciences Imatshoeva M.B.
Teachers of the department are mainly engaged in teaching English in integrated specialties, such as Arabic-English, Persian-English, Chinese-English, German-English, Tajik-English, Hindi-English, etc.
According to the scientific plan the teachers of the department conduct scientific-methodological and scientific-research work in the direction of “Actual issues of linguistics, comparative research of English and Tajik languages.” According to this direction a plan for the prospects of research work has been drawn up, and the majority of young teachers of the department have been involved in research work. The assistant of the department Khushruz Karimov, presented a scientific dissertation on the topic “Reflection of the concept water in the lexical system and changes in English and Tajik languages from the point of view of linguoculturology and translation” for preliminary defense at the department.
The department has drawn up a plan for a scientific club and students’ research work and according to the plan, clubs and events are held every month.
Since the department was recently opened, the teachers of the department decided to compile teaching materials, textbooks and visual aids for Arabic-English, Persian-English, Chinese-English, German-English, Tajik-English, Hindi-English, etc. on a practical course in English, practical and theoretical English grammar, practical and theoretical phonetics, lexicography, linguistic text analysis, interpretation of the English-language press, etc.
